Enabling our service users to be physically, emotionally and spiritually healthy.
Bethel Health and Healing Network offers a range of services that promote the health and well-being some of the most disadvantaged people living in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. We help people to achieve their physical, psychological and spiritual potential by being there for them during difficult times and helping them to build relationships in their community. We currently offer 2 Primary services 1. Bethel Doula service 2.Rapha Listening. Why the community needs us
Bethel Doula Service support the most vulnerable and isolated pregnant women in Birmingham including those who are fleeing abusive parents / partners, persecution, substance misuse, trafficking, young mothers, asylum seekers and more. Our Rapha listening service in Alum Rock is for local people who may experience low mood and low level mental health problems. We aim to identify issues before they escalate We also run a weekly mother and baby group which is based in Central Birmingham. Our impact on the community
Last year Bethel Doula Service delivered around 7,500 hours of volunteer support. We also trained over 100 volunteers, distributed around 80 baby starter packs, assisted in over 350 births and supported more than 270 women..Our Rapha listening service reports that 30% of the people referred are currently being heard by fabulous listeners of which 90% have decided to extend the sessions. Our volunteers are second to none having previously won the BVSC Volunteer Team of the Year 2017 award
To support vulnerable and isolated pregnant women across Birmingham, or provide a friendly listening ear in Alum Rock. We would also love some support with our fund-raising events.
