Burgess Hill Cricket Club seeks £30,000 to refurbish practice facilities, providing safe cricket coaching for 365+ players of all ages and abilities.
We provide opportunities for boys and girls of all ages to play cricket in a safe, enjoyable environment. Our club is ECB Clubmark accredited and has been appointed as a Focus club by the Sussex County Cricket board. This underpins our commitment to provide coaching and cricket to youngsters of all abilities in a safe and professional environment and to enable them to maximise their potential. We run more than 20 teams throughout the Summer for our members.
Our Project
Burgess Hill Cricket Club is seeking funding to refurbish its practice facilities and artificial wicket at St John's Park, Burgess Hill, West Sussex. This exciting project will replace the ageing playing surfaces with ECB approved two-tone Cricketweave carpet, creating a safer, higher quality environment for cricket coaching and practice for over 400 players, including junior girls and boys, adult members, and children from local schools. The total project cost is estimated at £30,000,

Why the community needs us
Our club was voted Active Sussex Club of the Year and Mid Sussex Community Club of the Year in recognition of the outstanding Community work the club undertakes in and around Burgess Hill. We have established breakfast clubs and twilight cricket coaching sessions for primary school children in Burgess Hill in winter and provide indoor and outdoor cricket coaching and practice throughout the year for in excess of 270 children. We extend use of the clubs cricket facilities to many local primary and secondary schools for their school cricket fixtures. In conjunction with Sussex CCC we have recently established a disability cricket coaching hub.
We fill the gap created where few state schools are providing cricket opportunities. Please support us in our goal to upgrade our ageing facilities so that even more boys and girls can enjoy their cricket.
