Entraide's aim is to support the growing refugee, asylum seeker and other migrants in the West Midlands to facilitate their integration into UK society. We also work to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable development in Africa in the fields of education, health and agriculture.
Why the community needs us
We are currently the only specialist organisation in Solihull specifically to meet the needs of new communities in the area. We provide general information, advice and advice on benefits, housing, education, healthcare and organise a variety of activities to facilitate community cohesion. We believe that the arrival of new people into the area with fresh ideas can have a positive effect on the socio-economic status of this area if their energies are channelled properly.
Our impact on the community
Since our inception we have helped hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers to:- apply for benefits,- open bank accounts and manage their monies - find suitable accommodation, - find employment and training courses,- access primary healthcare, etc. We also support unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (aged between 15 and 21) with life-skills and settling in the area.
