Fallowfield Community Resource Centre: A Hub of Inclusion and Support Manchester

Fallowfield Community Resource Centre is the only dedicated community provision in the area, serving as a vital hub for residents of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a welcoming, inclusive space where people come to connect, learn, and grow—whether it’s toddlers enjoying story time, older adults seeking companionship, or individuals looking to volunteer, upskill, or find support.

Our work is entirely shaped by the community. We respond directly to local needs with projects that reflect the area’s rich cultural diversity, including Arab, Bangladeshi, Ukrainian, Somali, Hindu, Chinese, Polish, English, and Irish communities. This diversity is celebrated through activities such as ESOL and Talk English classes, Sai Baba gatherings, and cultural events like Eid, Diwali, and Christmas, which bring people of all backgrounds together.

We address a wide range of social and economic challenges. Between April and September, our Job Club supported 101 individuals, resulting in 28 people gaining employment and 21 completing training. Our volunteering programme generates over 2,500 hours annually, with several volunteers progressing into paid roles.

Our Money Help service enabled clients to claim over £500,000 in financial support last year. Meanwhile, our community grocer helps 80 families weekly with affordable food, and an additional 30 families rely on our emergency food provision.

We also tackle isolation and health inequalities. Over 90 people engage weekly in social activities like Forever Young and Knit and Natter, while 70+ families attend creative sessions. More than 60 people benefit from health-focused programmes, and over 70 participate in cultural and learning activities.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to community empowerment, inclusion, and resilience. We are proud to be the place people turn to—for support, opportunity, and a sense of belonging.
