Families United supports Warrington's disabled children and young adults with profound & multiple learning difficulties, rare genetic disorders, and neurodiverse conditions.  Our core offer is responsive and flexible,  impacting motivation, confidence building, and respite from illness and life-threatening conditions.  The Saturday F.Un Club, F.UNtastic Athletics, and Family Respite at 'The Puddle' and monthly external events create life-enhancing experiences for those who may be socially isolated. Our projects provide clear outcomes for more active children, focussing on exciting future inclusive events, reducing isolation and loneliness.

Families have an opportunity to participate in activities in our natural, nurturing environment, removing common barriers such as isolation and loneliness, and to network and find support through connections with other community groups. Our young members feel supported and valued irrespective of socio-economic status, complex needs, or behaviours.

Every initiative we undertake aims to promote well-being, positive change, and achievable goals without social pressure or judgment.
Why the community needs us
We aim to increase our children/young adults' well-being, independence and social opportunities, encouraging the learning of new skills, healthy lifestyles and new friendships.  We also hope to unite our member families so that they can find support in each other through shared experiences, strategies and understanding of the impact of having a child with SEND can have on family life.  Families United acts as a lifeline, providing support and activities families would often not otherwise be able to access, offering opportunities to build social connections with those in similar situations.

Our impact on the community
Many children/young adults with disabilities struggle to access mainstream activities due to physical access or anxiety issues. Families United understands their anxieties and helps to manage them, providing F.UN, inspiring activities for local families.
