Global Generation primarily work with local young people, families and businesses in King's Cross as well as at our Paper Garden in Canada Water and our Urban Campsite in Regents Place. We grow organically, cook together, write creatively, build sustainably, be still and embrace silence. These practices help us to create the conditions for people to come together in a fuller and more connected sense of who they are and what they are a part of and from that space, to support them to practically contribute to ecological and social change. During the COVID-19 emergency Global Generation is undergoing a difficult financial situation. Many of our income streams have stopped, we are keeping a core team on to deliver key services. We have closed the Story Garden to the public to contribute to the national effort to curb the virus and are exploring ways to lay down the foundations for new ways of living and working together, that are both hyper local and global. Why the community needs us
During this time, we will offer the following services:1. Increased production of quick green leaves and veg to be distributed to vulnerable families
2. Maintaining the gardens so they can provide respite and be ready for when it is safe for people to return
3. Supporting young people and families online. Producing 'Stay at Home Garden' fortnightly pack of downloadable, nature oriented activities for all agesOur impact on the community
We know that with your generous donations we will be able to come out strong and be ready to welcome everyone in the garden again when we open. There will be an even bigger need then to come together amongst the plants to share food, stories and friendships. These are uncertain times for everyone, but if you are able to make any donation please do so.
