hArt provides tailor-made workshops and projects for groups and individuals depending on their specific requirements, devised and led by qualified art psychotherapists and arts facilitators. We also run workshops to bring people together to enjoy social contact while focussing on exploring their creative side. In addition, we are planning educational courses for people to learn new skills or to rediscover a forgotten talent, profits from which will help to support hArt.
Why the community needs usBringing people together to have fun, make friends and find a new social focus which can address isolation, especially in more rural areas. At the same time, we like to bring together the old and the young so that they can interact and share a creative project. We work with children and adults with mental health issues, as well as addressing the older members of the community with age-related memory loss.
Our impact on the communityWe aim to encourage people to express themselves in a variety of ways, and provide safe, guided and non-judgmental spaces in which to do this. The results range from feeling more relaxed and happy to increased self-esteem, resilience and confidence, a wider circle of contacts and friends. Art Psychotherapy can have remarkable effects on those who have experienced life-changing events which they have never been able to put into words.
