Jump Space: Changing Lives One Move At A Time. Charity providing inclusive sports for disabled people, enhancing health and community participation.
Jump Space is a small, local charity based in Stockport. We have been providing trampolining and rebound, sensory and active play sessions in the community for many years. Our trained staff provide a safe, fun, understanding and non-judgmental environment for disabled children and young people to be active, many of whom due to their impairments are unable to access other forms of sport and activity.
In our specialised centre, as well as trampolines, we have accessible play, slides, swings, a ball pool and sensory rooms. We have a large gym for groups and a smaller gym which is often used for 1 to 1 sessions with people with profound and complex needs.
We work closely with families and professionals, helping individuals progress towards meaningful goals in physical and mental health health. Our sessions can help to increase mobility and independence, strength, stamina and general physical health as well as social and communication through signing, AAC or picture based communication.
Why the community needs us
Jump Space offers a wide range of sessions, responding to the needs of the community. We help to improve the health & well being of members of the community with a disability.
Some of the people who visit us are very isolated. Often we are the only activity they can access. We provide support and social opportunities for the whole family, helping to build friendships and share information.
Jump Space encourages whole families to attend: this means that siblings can play together in a safe place rather than having to attend different sessions. Many other activity providers do not offer this: those with a disability have to attend separate sessions.
