Loxley Silver Band is a brass band based in Stannington, Sheffield.
Loxley Silver Band provides the opportunity to learn a brass instrument. We have players ranging from 10-80+ years! We perform regularly at a local and community events. We play local carols and festive tunes at a variety of venues and public houses during December.
Why the community needs usLoxley Band provides an important community service in Sheffield. As a traditional brass band we offer both a musical education service to children and adult learners and we contribute to a number of community events. We currently have over 55 people involved in learning and making music, with around a third of these being children. The rest of our membership is made up of young adults, adults and older people. We perform to over 15,000 people per year at local events, galas and festivals.
Our impact on the communityWe help over 50 people learn to play a brass instrument, support at least 35 community events with performances and perform to up to 15,000 people every year.
