Park in the Past is an exciting and innovative conservation and heritage project that aims to create a multi-faceted and sustainable community resource at a disused quarry in Hope, Flintshire. Our vision is to create an inclusive, accessible community country park and a unique heritage attraction, encompassing pre-historic societies and culture as well as Iron Age and early Roman history so people can see how their ancestors lived and worked together. This project is unique in the UK.
Why the community needs usWe offer an incredible 120 acre community space - woodlands, wetlands, 35 acre lake, pastures and river habitats - a historic living landscape for everyone to explore and develop into a sustainable place for local wildlife and family activities. A therapeutic place where local people can go to escape the pressures and stresses of modern life, try something new to develop their skills or expand their personal horizons in fresh and exciting directions.
Our impact on the communityOur aim is to inspire life-changing experiences and serve all of the local community irrespective of their age and abilities. We're committed to making a difference and are working with countless community groups, individuals and national agencies to enhance our local landscape.
