Our Story

Rimrose Valley Friends is an award-winning charity operating in the South Sefton area of the Liverpool City Region. Our activities are centred around Rimrose Valley Country Park and surrounding communities.

We began life as community group in 2015 with the simple aim of acting as a link to the council and the emergency services to tackle anti-social behaviour.

This work made us realise there was a need not just for representation, but also for connection, with so many people living near the park, using it daily, but rarely interacting with each other, or taking advantage of everything it has to offer.

We became a registered charity in 2017 with the objectives of promoting, protecting and nurturing Rimrose Valley, its nature and using everything the park has to offer to improve community cohesion and the health and wellbeing of surrounding communities.

Our Work

We focus on 3 key areas:

1) Building stronger communities by bringing people together, tackling loneliness and isolation;

2) Getting people active, improving their physical and mental health; and

3) Enhancing the environment, nurturing and caring for the nature on our doorstep.

Almost all our activities are completed outdoors on and around Rimrose Valley and are completely FREE to the public, funded by grants, our own fundraising efforts and donations like YOURS.

Why are we fundraising?

For the past 7 years, our charity has been fighting to save Rimrose Valley from a government-led road proposal. In October 2024, these plans were cancelled, so we're now able to focus on a brighter future for the park and our charity.

In order for us to take the next step, we need to secure funds for paid role(s), to deliver more projects and have as big an impact as possible.

Thank you for your support!
