The first thing we do, is listen. For many of our clients, this is the 1st time they've been heard.
We look at the causes and effects of attitude, thinking and behaviour of people involved in crime, exploring new ways of thinking and making new choices. We look for the Reasons Why people offend and help them to find their own alternatives which do not cause negative outcomes. We give people the opportunity to share their own thoughts, beliefs and experiences in a safe environment, in complete confidence where they know they are being listened to, heard and valued. Here the change begins.
Why the community needs usOur programme helps the people we support to shape their future, rejoining communities that they have grown distant to. With the skills and resources acquired from working with us, they learn to be positive role models to others & contributory members of their communities. We also help communities to better understand these estranged people, through information and experience sharing at our community celebration events. The future of our communities relies upon effective cohesion.
Our impact on the communitySince 2012 we have worked with 628 adults (01/10/18) across London who have experienced difficulties in their lives as a consequence of their offending, 32 are known to have returned to prison. We have less than 5% recidivism and 92% report a considerable increase in their sense of well being and confidence in moving forward in their lives without re-offending or anti-social behaviour. We see these outcomes as significant and strive to learn more in order to provide a greater social impact.
We have exciting opportunities to mentor the young adults we support and for being involved in the operation and development of the foundation.
