Salisbury Women's Refuge plays a crucial role in providing a safe haven for women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. Our service offers accommodation and unwavering support for up to 12 women and their children, guiding them toward a life of independence and safety. Through secure accommodation, tailored support packages, the Freedom Programme, and emotional support services, we help rebuild self-esteem and equip survivors with the tools they need for a brighter future.

The need for our services is pressing. In 2024 alone, we assisted 15 families and 15 single women in escaping abusive situations, though we had to turn away up to 10 families a months due to lack of space. On average, families stay with us for 12 months, but last year, we have had multiple families with us up to 18 months, highlighting the enduring demand for our refuge.

Our work extends beyond just providing shelter. We offer safety planning, counselling, and signposting to other agencies to ensure that women and children can rebuild their lives, free from violence. The impact of our service is immeasurable, not only for those directly involved but for the wider community, as we continue to offer support where it’s needed most.
