In 2005 Harriette Ashcroft became the founding member of the Sing-along Band. Based in Exmouth Market, London EC1, her mission was to provide free, quality music drop-in's for children and their carers. Through that group, she met musician Ted Barnes in 2010 and they began to assemble the cast of 'The Sing-along Band'.

While still maintaining Exmouth Market Centre as their home, the band have been able to reach out to further audiences by touring with Arts Council support. This has included performances in schools, libraries, elderly support centres and community centres as well as appearances at summer festivals and arts centres.

At present Singalong Songs runs a number of community based projects including:

The Culpeper Singalong Choir: With the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund, we work with a group of mainly neurodivergent adults to sing together on Thursday evenings, creating a space of learning, friendship and laughter.

Companion, Together in Bread and Song: Check out our project page as we are currently fundraising to continue this project which was enabled by a generous donation from the Emergence Foundation

Music Drop ins for children and their carers: At Exmouth Market Centre and in Walthamstow. We work to enhance inclusion at these sessions and do outreach to achieve this.

Donations in support of our work are warmly welcomed.
