The provision of real time weather and tidal data reports covering the general Solent area.
The reports are available via the Chimet
websites and also the Solentmet Android and Apple apps.
We work together with several partners who have provided funds or assets over the years for specific projects.
The RNLI Hayling Island Station provides a safe location for the main computer.
The Chichester Federation and the Friends of Chichester Harbour have provided funds for projects within the Harbour, and the Conservancy maintains the stations and supports the Chimet and Cambermet websites.
Since we set up the Bramble station in 2004 with the help of the RNLI, Associated British Ports have continued to maintain the station on the Bramble beacon. However, they no longer fund the costs of providing the Bramblemet and Sotonmet websites. We are, therefore, in urgent need of funds to enable us to continue providing these websites.
The Two Apps have been upgraded by one of our Trustees on a voluntary basis but we now need funds to progress and to buy added information to widen the scope of the Apps.
We would like to build another group of supporters / stakeholders outside of Chichester Harbour to help in the vital work of the Solentmet Support Group.
