About The Wheel

The Wheel is Sustainable Merton's waste reduction & circular economy project. We are working to reduce waste from the the things we buy, use, and wear every day. We do this by raising awareness, supporting volunteering networks, improving community connections, and providing skill-share opportunities to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Why is this important?

By reducing the amount of material that enters the waste stream, this project directly contributes to Merton Council’s target to reduce carbon emission to net zero borough wide by 2050. No council can achieve it’s target without support from the community. We take action to reduce the amount of waste we send to incineration or export to other countries, and to live in more circular, low waste neighbourhoods.
