Sustainable MK is a new charitable organisation (charity registration 1214180) established to take ownership and operational responsibility of the Food Connect initiative in Milton Keynes and support community partners to access surplus food.

In early 2024, with the support of MK Community Foundation and in partnership with Hubbub, the team secured funding to explore how the work of MK Community Fridge and Food Connect could be sustained locally in the long term.

Following local consultation with community organisations, businesses, staff, volunteers and partners, the decision was made to setup a dedicated Milton Keynes charity focussed on the reduction of waste, improving wellbeing and building local resilience.
