The Esther Project is a women-only Community Interest Company based in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, supporting women experiencing domestic abuse, homelessness, trauma, poor mental health, addiction, exploitation and multiple disadvantage.
Founded in 2017, The Esther Project was created to offer compassionate, trauma-informed support to women facing significant life challenges and instability. Many of the women supported by the organisation have experienced complex trauma, unsafe environments, abuse, poverty, poor mental health and long-term disadvantage.
The Esther Project provides practical, emotional and wellbeing-focused support through a range of services including supported accommodation, drop-in support, one-to-one guidance, counselling referrals, wellbeing activities and community-based support. The organisation currently operates a women-only safe house alongside wider support services designed to help women move beyond immediate crisis and begin rebuilding stability, confidence and independence.
Over the past year alone, The Esther Project has supported more than 70 women across Warwickshire through its safe house, drop-in provision and wellbeing services, with demand for support continuing to grow. The safe house is regularly operating at full capacity, reflecting the increasing need for safe, trauma-informed environments for vulnerable women locally.
The organisation works closely with local agencies, charities, healthcare providers and community partners across Warwickshire to ensure women are able to access support that is relational, restorative and tailored to their individual needs.
At the heart of The Esther Project’s work is the belief that every woman deserves safety, dignity, compassionate support and the opportunity to rebuild her life in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
