'Bucks School Camps Association' have brought children and young people to the Isle of Wight since the 1930's. No children have been on the field since before the pandemic, and now, after three years of work, the Haven, a new local charity (number 1208380,) will get this land benefiting young people again.
The land can now welcome local children and families, a place to connect with themselves, nature and each other. We are currently talking to our neighbours and local community to get their views on what happens next.
There are many ideas - campsite, community growing space, digital free space, new footpath, youth clubs, community orchard, community events, above all a space for community and creativity, where all ages can meet and be welcomed.
In the meantime we have costs to cover just to get the site up and functional again, so any donation will help us get children on the field and enjoying nature sooner. Please donate today to help us cover the costs of
-renovating toilets and facilities
-electrical and plumbing checks and support
-mowing the field (after 2 years)
-insurance and other set up costs
-consulting our community on this amazing opportunity.
We are also asking for sponsors for trees in our community orchard (to be planted this autumn) so if that is something you are interested in, or if you have time or expertise you could donate, please email us.
Thank you very much for your support,
Rose, Charity, Lucy, Helen and Andrew (Trustees)
