Contribute to our roof restoration project, preserving the origins of digital computing. We've already raised 76.32% of our goal .We face a pressing challenge with the deteriorating roof over The Tunny and Colossus machines. Preserving Heritage, Inspiring Futures: Our museum houses Enigma, the Turing-Welchman Bombe, Colossus, and the WITCH, educating visitors about computing's rich history from the 1940s to today. The Significance of Block H: At the heart of our mission lies Block H, a building of immense historical significance. During World War II,after this it was a Post Office training centre this unassuming structure was the world's first data centre, housing the Colossus electronic codebreaking machines. Today, Block H is home to our world-class collection of functional historic computers, including the pioneering Enigma, the Turing-Welchman Bombe, Colossus, the WITCH, and other trailblazing machines. Through engaging exhibits and educational programs, we bring to life the clandestine efforts of the 1940s, the large systems of the 1950s and 60s, the rise of personal computing in the 1980s, and beyond. We introduce computer coding to young minds, inspiring the next generation of computer scientists and engineers. Why Now? Over the years we have patched and repaired parts of the roof from limited museum funds, but with the passage of time and a changing climate, the time has come to replace the original structure with a modern waterproof and insulated roof to protect the building and preserve its contents for future generations.Enhancements for All: Funds raised will refurbish key facilities, expanding our educational programs.
