Providing low cost holidays for individuals, families and groups facing crisis and hardship.
The Jonas Centre is a non-profit holiday venue in Wensleydale, operated by The Jonas Trust, that provides accommodation and resources to individuals, families and groups in a peaceful setting to get away from the strains & stresses of everyday life.
Why the community needs us
Since 1996 we have provided over 1600 subsidised holidays to over 3000 adults and over 2000 children many of whom have never had a holiday before, liaising with the following organisations. Hambleton & Richmondshire District Council, North Yorkshire County Council, Christians Against Poverty, The Prince's Trust, MIND, St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds,Tees, Esk & Wear NHS Trust, Middlesbrough Borough Council, MENCAP, Friends of Chernobyl's Children (Northallerton branch).
Our impact on the community
Despite the economic climate, last year was busy in terms of the provision of subsidised holidays. We were able to provide over 400 adults & 100 children with a break at the Jonas Centre. It was only as a result of generous donations, that we were able to provide these breaks along with meeting our normal expenditure. Can I encourage you to help us build on our previous successes by donating to the work of The Jonas Centre.
