We are delighted to announce that Voluntary Action Islington has been chosen as the Mayor’s Charity of the Year 2023-2024. Voluntary Action Islington has been delivering services in the borough for over 50 years.

Our focus for the year ahead and the difference we would like to make through this partnership with the Mayor of Islington
The aim of our partnership is to provide a spotlight on the value of volunteering and community action and over the next 12 months to substantially increase the number of local people taking up volunteering positions across all parts of Islington.
We know that people benefit hugely from establishing new connections in the community, and having the opportunity to gain new experiences and learn new skills. In addition, they are able to share their own knowledge and experience, which is so valuable when supporting others.
Celebrating the valuable contribution made by Volunteers and inspiring others
It is important to recognise the contribution that volunteers make to the community and throughout the year we will hold a series of high-profile events to celebrate the work of thousands of local people volunteering in Islington and the huge impact they make to the community, as well as inspire others to take up volunteering or to do more because they know more about the support that is needed.
