Waltham Forest | Disability
Waltham Forest charity offers activity sessions for disabled adults to socialise and stay active. They focus on affordability and integration.
Our Centre is a place where disabled adults can meet others and have fun keeping healthy, being creative and learning new skills and interests. Our service users decide how often they come to our Centre, to take part in the activity sessions they choose, as part of their lives in the wider community.
We provide a timetable of daytime activity sessions and short courses for disabled adults, e.g. Zumba, Table Tennis, Women’s Exercise, Art, Needlecrafts, Community Choir etc
We also bring disabled and non-disabled people together through regular social evenings and a fortnightly Saturday Stitching Club.
Why the community needs us
We work hard to keep our service affordable for the many disabled people who have to pay for their own daytime opportunities and activities, so help them keep active and avoid isolation.
Our service is used by people with physical impairments, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health needs and long-term health conditions such as Arthritis, Diabetes and Heart Conditions.
