What Moves You delivers participatory performing arts projects and performances for, and with, professional and non-professional artists.
We work to help more people connect to professional artists, growing skills, knowledge and confidence in creativity and self-expression through high quality performances and fun creative activities for low or no cost. We fundraise all year round to make this possible.
What Moves You has no paid employees and the 5 Directors contribute their time and expertise as help in kind to manage the organisation. All the freelancers we work with are paid properly in accordance with their union or sector rates.
We have now created a children's show My Friend Selkie and will tour the show to theatres, schools and village halls. Our annual fundraiser target of £10000 aims to offer free tickets and performances to children across Scotland.

We also deliver 2 participatory projects each year - Light Up Newburgh (Spring) and Starry Nights (Autumn), weekly performing arts and crafts after school sessions for the children in our town, Newburgh in Fife, We work to give the children and young people new skills and opportunities to show their community how fabulously creative they are! We also invite professional artists to share work at these local events to inspire everyone.

What Moves You works to remove barriers and share creative work with lots of people across Scotland.

Volunteers needed

to support in person weekly arts activity after school for 2 hours a week on Thursdays in Newburgh, Fife in October - November 2023 and Feb - March 2024. Volunteers need to join Disclosure Scotland's Protection of Vulnerable Group Scheme (which we can help with) and attend training, including about our Child & Protected Adult Protection Policy.
