Working to support young people from Kent to achieve their potential now and for their future
We work with a large number of community based youth clubs and youth support organisation to help them increase the capacity and quality of the work they do with young people. We also deliver our own direct support programmes to help young people from a range of backgrounds raise their aspirations, build their confidence & self-esteem and develop the personal, social, life & employability skills they need to achieve their full potential and have a great future.
Why the community needs usAs well as providing a direct and positive benefit for young people from across the county, our work also has a positive social impact. The more young people we can engage in positive activities the less likely they are to become involved in anti social behaviour and the more we can help those reaching adulthood to improve their skills, aspirations and employability the more likely they are to secure a job and be able to contribute positively to their local community.
Our impact on the communityWe reach around 20,000 young people each year by providing high quality support & activities for the many dedicated volunteers that run the County's youth clubs - last year we provided training opportunities for over 300 Club Leaders in a range of youth support development sessions. Our direct delivery programmes offer essential & highly valued support for those young people engaged, for example, 100% of those who took part in our me2 programme last year said they would recommend it to others!
We are looking for a range of volunteers to support Young Kent and the young people we work with in a variety of ways.
