Our membership fee is charged as an annual payment of £150 + £30 VAT (£12.50 + VAT per month) because a large part of our costs are involved with onboarding and annual due diligence. The single fee is payable on the following basis: - We accept payment by Direct Debit and full details of how to pay will be outlined during the registration process. - We'll send you several reminders about your renewal in addition to any communications you get from your bank, and you are always welcome to cancel the membership. - Your annual membership will automatically renew on the anniversary of your start date provided your membership Direct Debit details are still valid.

If you have a Direct Debit set up, you do not need to do anything as we will automatically take payment 10 days before your next renewal date. If you are not yet registered with Localgiving you will be able to set up your Direct Debit during the registration process. If you are currently a member of Localgiving you can set up your Direct Debit by heading to the “My Membership” section of the Membership Dashboard. You can cancel your membership at any time, and we'll make sure to stop your next renewal payment. Simply fill out the contact form below to get in touch and we'll be happy to assist with your membership cancellation. You will receive multiple email notifications prior to your renewal. If you have a Direct Debit set up for membership payments, the payment will be taken ten (10) days before the date of renewal.

You will be notified of your renewal date via email and you can also check these dates in the My Membership section of the dashboard. Unfortunately we can't offer a refund once a renewal has been made, which is why we try to contact you twice to confirm the renewal in addition to regular communications you will receive from your bank.

We do give donors the option to add a voluntary tip for Localgiving on top of their donation. The tip is how Localgiving is able to continue to operate and any excess goes to the charity that owns the platform Localgiving Foundation. The only exception is on donations greater than £200 where we do request a 5% contribution to cover the additional costs in processing and screening larger transactions, you can choose to have this fee deducted from the donation or add it as a tip. The only other fees are associated with the costs Localgiving incurs in processing regular transactions through our payment partners. These fees are charged to cover the cost of processing the payment and are as follows; - 1.9% + 20p for donations made using UK debit cards, credit cards, and PayPal - 2.9% + 20p for PayPal donations made from Europe (any country within the EEC) - 2.9% + 26p for all International cards and all American Express - 3.9% + 20p for all PayPal donations made from countries outside the UK and Europe (any country within the EEC)

We will ask donors to leave an additional voluntary tip when making a donation. This is used to cover the costs of running the Localgiving platform. Localgiving is owned entirely by the Localgiving Foundation ( Reg. Charity England & Wales 1132411 / Reg. Charity Scotland SC047395) so any excess profit still goes to charitable causes.

We manage the Gift Aid process, you don’t have to do anything. If you are an unregistered Charity, you will still be eligible for Gift Aid contributions. We process Gift Aid via the Localgiving Foundation to distribute to our organisations. We do this in monthly batches so you will receive Gift Aid on a batch of donations rather than on each individual one. This means that, depending on when a donation was made, it may take up to two months to receive Gift Aid on a specific donation. Please note, there is a fee, which is 5% of the Gift Aid amount. If you are still waiting on Gift Aid for a specific donation three months after it was made then please get in touch with us, although please be aware that not all Gift Aid claims will have been successful.

Supporters will be able to make donations directly to a Member’s charity or fundraising page. Donors will have the option to make a one-off donation or set up a monthly Direct Debit. We are only able to accept donations via Credit card, Debit card, Paypal or Direct Debit. We are unable to accept donations via cheque. If you would like to make a donation that exceeds your card limits then please get in touch with our team. A donor will receive a donation receipt as soon as the donation is made, which will also be updated in the member's dashboard and reporting. It may take up to three weeks for the funds to clear into the organisation's accounts which gives us time to initiate Gift Aid processing. Localgiving directs all donation payment transfers to the latest bank account details you provide. Please make sure you keep your bank details up to date as we may not be able to process donations if something has changed.

We aim to process data deletion requests in seven working days. However, processing can at times take up to 30 days in line with GDPR policies. Please be aware that we may not be able to delete all your data due to HMRC requirements concerning Gift Aid if you have applied Gift Aid to any donations. Just log into your Localgiving account to open your dashboard. You'll see your fundraising tools on the left of the screen, one of which will read "reports". Here you'll be able to customise your reports, such as setting the dates you wish to search, view the reports in your browser, or download for internal use.

You can find this under the “Reports” section of your Membership Dashboard. Once in the reporting section you simply need to download a copy of the Financial Reports. This report contains complete details of your Localgiving payments to help with your accounting of funds raised. You can select from a predefined date period, a custom date range or a specific payment, using the reference that accompanied the payment.

To update your bank details, simply head to the “My Account” section on the left-hand menu of the Membership Dashboard. Then select “Bank Details” on the drop-down menu. Please note you will also need to provide a bank statement dated in the last three months (which can be uploaded or emailed to us) so we can verify the details. Once you update your details, you will have 24 hours to provide us with a bank statement. You will temporarily be unable to receive donations or grant payments until we have been able to verify your new bank details. Please keep your bank details up to date, as incorrect details will delay or stop payments.
