Partly midlife crisis (I’m 50 this year) but mainly to raise money for WISH children’s diabetes group I have decided to complete a number of challenges - one a month for the whole of 2019. My son Alex was just 5 years old when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a life long condition with no cure. Alex is now 8 and we’re so proud of him and what he deals with every day - he is strong and brave and has adapted to this awful condition in the most amazing way. We hope with all our hearts that one day a cure can be found for this life threatening condition. A life line for our family has been the support of other parents through WISH - our local support group who encourage our children to become more independent to manage their condition and reach out to help them face the future. I’d like to appeal to my family and friends to help me raise a bit of money to help the group support more families just like ours. I have already completed Dry January, climbed a welsh mountain twice in a day, ran Wigan 5k and cuddled a snake :) May’s challenge is to run Manchester 10k, and June to climb Snowden at sunset. More to come including Manchester Half Marathon and Run Disney when we’re in Florida in November. Please give what you can, even small amounts gratefully received.
Thanks
