Redway

Hello Everyone, Welcome to our fund raising page and thank you for visiting, During 2017 the Carty family and our friends will be taking part in ‘17 in 17 for The Redway’ to support and raise money for The Redway School which is a special school in Milton Keynes. The event is all year long and comprises of 17 seperate events. About the events: There are going to be a variety of events such as half marathons, cycling sportives hopefully including the Cobbler classic and a number of shorter and more fun based events such as The Big Fun Run, Colour Obstacle Rush and the MK Marathon relay. The idea is to get as many people as possible involved in some way. So that includes you, parents, carers, teaching staff, siblings, friends and family and most importantly any students from The Redway that want to take part. Events will be added to 17 in 17 throughout the year, some we are waiting to see if we get places, so nothing is set in stone so if you’ve got any good suggestions or get involved get in touch. About the cause: Well 17 in 17 is in support of The Redway School which is an ‘extra special’ special school within Milton Keynes for children with profound or complex learning difficulties and just so happens to be the school that my beautiful daughter Emily, or Miss E as she is sometimes known, goes to. The Redway really and truly is an ‘extra special’ school and is such an important part of Emily’s and all of the other children and young people’s lives who go there. But it extends much further than that and is a really important part of our lives, all of the other parents and carers lives and also the lives of all of the fantastic teachers, STA’s and numerous other members of staff who all work there and help to make all of the magic happen. We aim to support The Redway school and want to raise funds to provide equipment to enable all students to access opportunities and activities that we all want our children to enjoy.
