Did you know?
Suicide is the leading Cause of Death for young people, aged 5 to 35, in England and Wales.
Every single day in the UK, on average, around five young people take their own lives.
In 2023, approximately 1,840 young people, under the age of 35, died by suicide in the UK. Over 200 of these were teenagers.
Roughly three-quarters of young people, who die by suicide, are boys or young men.
The suicide rate among females continues to rise, with those aged 24 and under seeing the largest increase, rising by 83% between 2012 and 2018.
Chances are, we all know someone, or know of someone, affected by suicide.
On Saturday May 16th, on behalf of 'Papyrus' young people suicide prevention, I’ll be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. As part of the Emperor team, we'll cover 24 miles, 5,200ft of ascent, and three iconic summits in a single day — raising money for a cause that genuinely matters. It’s going to be tough, and my toes hurt thinking about it, but every step will be worth it.
If you’re able to sponsor me, no matter the amount, you’ll be supporting something bigger than the challenge itself. Your encouragement will carry me up Pen-y-Ghent, over Whernside, and across the final push to Ingleborough.
Fingers crossed and thanks for your support. (Go, go, gadget legs!) :)
