In Memory of our Big Brother Andy Hale.
Born on 28th May 1963 in Nairobi Kenya, Andy had a very colourful life. Sadly he passed away peacefully at home on 26th June 2025.
It was Andrew's wish to have a simple funeral. In respect to this we've honoured his life quietly with a simple private cremation, which feels right to us and reflects what he would have wanted. We're grateful for all the messages, cards, comments and support from everyone that knew Andy, and we hope you'll remember him in your own way, just as we will.
Andrew's cremation took place on Monday 21st July 2025 in Bridgend Crematorium.
He was passionate about his work, and social life.
Over the last 24 years he worked at Drive in Bridgend as a Senior Support Worker and Team Manager. His colleagues said he brought a unique energy, warmth, and fierce commitment to his job.
During his time with Drive, Andy became a qualified counsellor and active volunteer in St Johns Ambulance. His Training Skills were exceptional.
He was happiest making a difference to people’s lives, specially those that he supported through his work.
Two of his main passions were his love of dogs and engaging with adults with learning disabilities, and frequently raised money for Gig Buddies - a charity that supports adults with special needs to be able attend gigs, events, etc.
It’s only fitting therefore that we remember Andy by raising awareness of what he loved and did, by way of a donation to Gig Buddies in his memory.
