I'm raising funds for Papyrus, a charity dedicated to a cause close to my heart, youth suicide prevention. In my community, suicide is a hugely disproportionate killer of young men and women, and it's hard to find anyone without stories of how they or those they know have been affected.
On the 16th of May I'll be walking up and down (and up and down and up and down again) the Yorkshire Three Peaks - a hiking challenge covering three hills, and that scares me shitless!
The reason why is to help fund the tireless efforts of my work's charity partner Papyrus. A little about them:
"Suicide is the biggest killer of people aged 35 and under in the UK. We believe that many suicides are preventable."
"Our suicide prevention helpline, HOPELINE247, is staffed by trained suicide prevention advisers, who work with young people – and anybody concerned for a young person – to help keep them safe from suicide. HOPELINE247 is a free and confidential call, text and email service, which is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year."
If you can spare it, I'd love the support as I aim to raise £600 for the cause! Thanks in advance and please remember to click gift aid if you qualify!
