My name is Ben, and by the time I take on the London Marathon in 2027, I’ll be 36 years old and celebrating twelve years with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary. Apart from three years elsewhere, I’ve spent my policing career serving the Hart community, where I’ve seen first-hand the incredible work Vision 4 Youth does for local young people.

What makes this charity so special to me is that it’s driven largely by volunteers who give up their own time to provide a safe, welcoming place for young people across Hart. Their dedication makes a real difference, and as a neighbourhood police officer, I’ve seen just how valuable that support can be. Quite simply, they make my job easier by helping young people before small problems become bigger ones.

This will be my first ever marathon. I’d love to break four hours, but more than anything, I want to enjoy every step of the biggest and best marathon in the world while raising as much money as possible for a truly wonderful cause.
