I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to run the New York City Marathon this November, and I knew I wanted to use it to support a local cause. Having worked with children across both primary and secondary schools through teaching boxing- and running my own toddler group- I was keen to find a charity that supports children and families in our community.
That’s when I came across Home-Start Newark. After learning more about the vital work they do with families in Newark, Ollerton and Boughton, I knew this was the charity I wanted to support. Their impact is inspiring, and I’m proud to be fundraising for them as I take on this marathon challenge.
About the charity: Home-Start Newark is dedicated to supporting local families with young children who are facing a variety of challenges, including isolation, mental health issues, physical health problems, bereavement, and financial struggles. Their trained volunteers provide compassionate, non-judgmental support in families' homes, offering practical help, emotional encouragement, and a listening ear. Giving children the best start in life is crucial, and by supporting parents, they help create stable and nurturing environments where children can flourish. Every donation makes this vital work possible.
Why Your Support Matters: Any funds raised will directly contribute to essential services, enabling them to recruit and train more volunteers, support more families in need, and expand their reach within the Newark, Ollerton and Boughton community. Your generosity empowers them to achieve their goals and positively impact our community, ensuring more children have the opportunity to thrive.
Your support, big or small, will help make a real difference - Thank you for anything you can give!
