Salford Foodbank would like to thank The Old Vic and The Lowry for their generous support throughout the run of A Christmas Carol.
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide parcels, containing three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food, and support, to local people in crisis, who are referred to us. We want to see more people lifted out of hardship and aim for a future where none of us need to use emergency food to get by.
The effects of the cost-of-living crisis and high energy prices has seen the need for our services continually on the increase. We support around 12,000 people a year, one third of which are children.
Every week, during the winter months, up to 400 Salford people find themselves in financial crisis, and in desperate need of emergency food support.
Just £11.60 will fund a food parcel for 2 people for 3 days.
We send our gratitude on behalf of all the local families, to every person that will donate at the end of the performance. Your generous contribution will go a long way to support those facing hardship this winter across Salford.
