Deaf Access Bedfordshire is led by five deaf trustees, and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Together, they coordinate a wide range of events, activities and support services across Bedford Borough to improve access, inclusion and opportunities for Deaf and hard of hearing people. Their work plays an important role in supporting the estimated 135,000 Deaf and hard of hearing people living across Bedfordshire.

The organisation delivers regular activities including Deaf Fit Club, BSL Café, Deaf Space and Deaf Coffee Club, helping to reduce isolation and strengthen community connections. It also provides BSL taster courses, Basic BSL training and Deaf Awareness sessions, raising awareness and improving communication between Deaf and hearing communities.

Through its Deaf Space Information, Advice and Guidance service, Deaf Access Bedfordshire provides vital support that might otherwise be inaccessible, helping Deaf and hard of hearing people to access information, understand their rights, navigate services and overcome communication barriers.
