In January I weighed 145kg. By September I’ll have cycled 500 miles through the Pyrenees. Here’s why…
In 2026 I’m taking on two major cycling challenges as part of the 10 years of Ring of Fire (ROF), raising money for four incredible charities.
Cycling has always been something I’ve enjoyed, but this year I’m using these events to hold myself accountable for losing weight and getting to a much healthier place. To give that effort a bigger purpose, I’ve committed to two serious challenges:
🚴 May – 165 miles over 2 days
🚴 September – 500 miles in the Pyrenees
These challenges are especially meaningful. Former MKRUFC and England professional, Ed Slater was recently diagnosed with MND. A devastating reminder of why this fundraising matters so much.
The charities I’m raising money for are:
🔵 Motor Neurone Disease Association – supporting people living with MND and funding vital research
🟡 Willen Hospice – supporting patients and families with specialist care
❤️ Cardiac Risk in the Young – working to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in young people
🏉 Milton Keynes Rugby Union Football Club – supporting grassroots rugby and the local community
£10 sponsors 10 miles. £50 sponsors a full day in the saddle. Every amount makes a real difference.
Every mile I ride is about raising as much as possible for these causes — and every donation keeps me accountable through the hard training days ahead.
If you can spare anything, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you for your support.
