The Great Get-Together Iftaar will take place from 3.30pm on Sunday 1 March 2026 at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone.

We will be celebrating our 10 years of the Great Get Together Iftaar. This annual event seeks to create a sense of belonging and inclusion through its multi faith / multi community content that is emotionally and spiritually uplifting.

This year our theme is Our City, Our Home; Migration: from Hijrah to Harmony.  The intention is to celebrate the diversity within our City of Milton Keynes and tell the parallel story of the migration by the Prophet (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah drawing lessons in the context of the present and the importance of living harmoniously working to strengthen and build a cohesive community one which protects and looks after each other.

Why they need our service
The Great Get-Together Iftaar invites everyone to open the fast with Muslims during the blessed month of Ramadan. It showcases the beauty of Islam and Ramadan through recitation, poetry, stories, songs and spoken words.

The event costs around £10,000 which the team fundraises through donations and in kind support. We are grateful to all our partners who work with us to make the Get Together Iftaar successful.

Through bringing communities together who do not normally mix, the event seeks to remind us that "we have far more in common than that which divides us".
