On Sunday 13th September, we will be running the Great North Run - Half Marathon, to raise money for Sunshine & Smiles - Leeds Down Syndrome Network.

Sunshine and Smiles have been invaluable to our family following Isla's Down Syndrome diagnosis shortly after birth. Whilst it came to us as a complete surprise, we were so lucky to be be introduced to the Charity and the amazing community that comes with it. It is a safe place where we feel heard, understood and surrounded by love.

As a small local charity, they rely so much on any donation they receive and could not continue without it. We want to do our best to ensure that the Charity can continue for many years to come so they can continue their great work. Josh is lucky enough to take Isla to their Sunbeams class on his non-working day, where Isla can play with her peers and Josh can chat with other parents on a similar journey to ours.

Alongside our clothing venture 3Twentyone (where profits from sales go to Sunshine and Smiles), we decided that it would be a great idea to try pushing ourselves physically, whilst both working and caring for Isla.

This will be Danielle's 1st ever Half Marathon, having only recently getting back into running post birth, and Josh's 2nd Half Marathon following the London Landmarks in April.

Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated by us and the charity. This will allow them to continue to offer things such as specialist support and groups, activities for children and adults, and paid employment opportunities at 21Co and 21@TCV cafes.
