Over the next 12 months, I’m taking on a series of fundraising challenges to raise money for You Matter Saddleworth CIC, an inspiring local organisation that supports mental wellbeing through nature-based learning, creative practice and shared experiences.
They’ve transformed an unused space in Uppermill into a welcoming woodland where people can connect with nature, learn new skills, be creative and spend time with others. They have exciting plans to develop the site even further so more people can benefit, and I’d love to help support that work.
This fundraising is in memory of my best friend, Karen, who sadly passed away earlier this year following a struggle with alcohol addiction. We will be planting a tree in her memory at the site, creating a lasting legacy in the area she grew up in while becoming part of a space that continues to support others.
🚫 One Year Without Alcohol
A personal commitment to 365 days alcohol-free, starting on 1st July 2026 – yes, that includes birthdays, Christmas and holidays!
🏃♂️ The Mossley 10K
Taking on the incredibly hilly Mossley 10K on 19 July 2026.
🧘♂️ Community Meditation Sessions
Hosting “pay what you can” meditation sessions throughout the year to raise funds while sharing the benefits of mindfulness with others.
Part of the money raised will pay for Karen’s tree. The remaining funds will go directly towards You Matter’s work, helping to develop the woodland and expand their nature-based wellbeing programmes so they can support even more people.
Whether you can donate instead of buying me a drink, share this page, or simply cheer me on over the next year, thank you. Every bit of support means a great deal.
