This match is being held in memory of Amelie Boyd (née Ogden), who tragically passed away on 23 February 2026, aged just 20. Amelie was the stepdaughter of Gravesend Grammar School teacher James Fotheringham, and a much-loved member of his family.

Amelie was born on 26 April 2005 and grew up in Meopham after moving there in 2009. She attended Meopham Primary School and Wrotham School, and was known as a vibrant, strong, bright and funny young woman whose warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

In April last year, she married her beloved husband, Gerrard. They were excitedly planning their future together, looking forward to their first wedding anniversary and Amelie’s 21st birthday this April.

Amelie lived life with colour and passion. She loved netball, playing for two teams, and expressed her creativity through beautiful handmade jewellery. Her love of Hello Kitty and all things pink was almost legendary. When Amelie loved someone, she showed it fully, through kindness, laughter and thoughtful gestures.

Her humour lit up every room. Whether working behind the bar at Meopham Cricket Club, supporting community events, or raising money through her crafts, Amelie was always giving to others.

Although she faced challenges with autism and her mental health, she had enjoyed almost three happy years and was making plans for the future; festivals, family holidays, and even a sweet-16 party for her beloved cat, Tuna.

Amelie leaves behind her husband Gerrard, mum Claudia, stepdad James, brother Joshua, sisters Lana and Eve, and many family and friends who are devastated by her loss.

In Amelie’s memory, the family are raising funds for the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund to support young people in Gravesham. Please donate if you can.
