Read a book recently about making brave, rather than perfect decisions in life.
With exercise - Why do we feel like we need to be amazing at something before we have the confidence to try it in a race/sporting event?
So I'm signing myself up for a number of new challenges this year - as a regular runner, but having picked up cycling and swimming earlier this year, I'm now doing my first ever cycling sportive and triathlon. No idea how 'good' I'll be at them, but I'm giving them a go!
Events booked so far:
- Leeds Half Marathon
- White Rose Sportive
- FixAddiction Triathlon
More to come throughout the year, is the plan.
Setting up just one fundraising page to last me the rest of the year - please donate and help me raise much needed funds for Carers Leeds.
Carers Leeds helps unpaid carers who support someone (be it a partner, parent, child, relative, friend or neighbour) who cannot manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental health issues, substance misuse or disability.
They provide free advice, helplines, support groups and one-to-one therapy sessions to help carers through the difficulties of being a carer and improve their wellbeing.
Just £25 pays for a Carer Wellbeing Session with a Therapist.
£15 provides 1 hour of emergency support on the Advice line.
£5 Provides refreshments for a Carers Cafe.
Carers Leeds is a charity providing information advice and support to unpaid carers in Leeds.
