Hi, I’m Liam Burton, owner of Roof Spec, proud patron of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, & dad to Wynter.
On 27th - 29th August, alongside my brother and a great group of friends, I’m taking on a huge fundraising challenge by walking the full length of Hadrian’s Wall to support an incredible cause that is close to my heart.
Over three days, we’ll cover approximately 84 miles, walking from Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast to Wallsend on the east. That means tackling around 28 miles each day across some challenging terrain, all while raising vital funds for children and families across Yorkshire.
The Principle Trust provides free respite breaks for children who are facing adversity, including poverty, trauma, mental health challenges, serious illness, disabilities, and difficult family circumstances. For many of these families, a holiday together is simply out of reach, yet the opportunity to spend quality time away from everyday pressures can be life-changing.
Through its 8 respite homes in Blackpool, Filey and Windermere, the charity gives families the chance to relax, reconnect and create precious memories together when they need it most.
As a father, I know how important family time is. Having the opportunity to step away from daily challenges and simply enjoy being together can make an enormous difference to a child's wellbeing and to the whole family.
That’s why I’m committed to supporting The Principle Trust and why we’re taking on this challenge. Every step we take along Hadrian’s Wall will help raise awareness and funds to ensure more families can benefit from these much-needed breaks.
Thanks to the charity’s 100% donations policy, every penny raised goes directly towards funding respite holidays.
Thank you for your support, generosity and encouragement. Together, we can help create lasting memories for families who need them most.
