At just 10 years old, Lucas is taking on an amazing challenge to raise money for two causes close to his heart: York RLFC Foundation and the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. 50:50 fundraising split with the donation to MND being made after the event.
Inspired by rugby league legend Sir Kevin Sinfield and his tireless fundraising efforts for the MND community, Lucas has created his very own 7 in 7 Challenge. From Sunday 16th August to Sunday 23rd August, he will run 7 kilometres every day for 7 consecutive days.
For a young rugby league player, this is a huge undertaking, but Lucas is determined to push himself, raise awareness and make a difference. He will be supported throughout the challenge by his mum and dad, who are incredibly proud of his commitment and determination.
This isn't Lucas' first fundraising effort. Last year, he completed a triathlon alongside his dad, Nick, to raise money for York RLFC Foundation. More recently, he was inspired by his mum and a team of runners who completed the York 10K in support of the Foundation. Lucas also proudly represented York RLFC Foundation in the Junior Run, completing 2.5km himself.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference. Funds raised will help the MND Association continue its vital work supporting people affected by Motor Neurone Disease, while also enabling York RLFC Foundation to deliver life-changing programmes that improve physical health, mental wellbeing, inclusion and opportunities for people across York and North Yorkshire.
Please support Lucas as he takes on this incredible challenge. Your generosity will help him reach his goal and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Thank you for backing Lucas and helping him make every kilometre count.
