Last September, our close friend and work colleague Alex Robinson sadly lost his battle with his mental health, leaving behind family and friends, who would have done everything in their powers to help and support him through this time.
Unfortunately, Alex wasn't alone in this situation and we are hearing about more men (and women) struggling to cope with their mental health.
We will never know what Alex, or others in the same situation are thinking and feeling at that time, but what we can do is to help raise awareness and hopefully help someone else who is in the same predicament.
There is a stigma that men can't talk about their feelings and share any pain that they are suffering, so we need to break down this barrier and make this support more accessible.
With this, we want to raise some money, some awareness and some support to the Mens Minds Matter organisation and the work that they continually do to tackle the mental health issues that are still around us today.
We have decided to do a three stage challenge in support of this great organisation;
Stage 1
Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th July
Walk the 34 miles of 'Sandstone Trail' in one day, starting in Frodsham and ending in Whitchurch.
Stage 2
Saturday 15th - Sunday 16th August
A 24hr cycle challenge, based at Lake Vyrnwy, in north Wales.
Stage 3
Saturday 12th - Sunday 13th September
The Snowdon Six Challenge, walk up and down Mount Snowdon three times in a 24hr period, using 6 different paths and not using the same path twice.
Every form of help will be appreciated, whether its donating money to the cause or helping to raise awareness for the work that Mens Minds Matter does!
Thank you!
