Every December, we try to make Christmas as festive as possible for our members. Below are activities and events we do in December, that are completely FREE for OPAL members, however, they cost OPAL £4000.

If you’re struggling for a gift to buy someone, why not donate to OPAL on their behalf?

• OPAL volunteers pack and hand deliver 80 Christmas hampers to our oldest members

• OPAL sends every member a handwritten Christmas card

• OPAL partners with Ralph Thoresby School to deliver a Christmas banquet to over 100 OPAL members

• OPAL puts on a Christmas Eve dinner to members who will be alone over the Christmas period

• OPAL volunteers visit a handful of members on Christmas Day with a mince pie and some cheer.

£1 - Buys a Christmas card for an OPAL member

£2 - Buys a pack of minces pie for an OPAL member on their own at Christmas

£5 - Covers the cost of transport to/from the Ralph Thoresby Banquet for one OPAL member

£15 - Buys a Christmas hamper for one of our oldest members (our oldest member is currently 103!)

£20 - Covers the cost of Christmas Dinner on 23rd December for an OPAL member

£25 - Buys a member a three-course dinner (including a gift) at the Ralph Thoresby Banquet
