We are taking part in The Wokingham Walk - 15 mile route - on Sunday 19 April. As many of you know Ruth is a member of Trinity Concert Band. Each year the band have a chosen charity which this year is Parenting Special Children (PSC) and we have decided to raise money for them. PSC is a Berkshire based charity dedicated to helping children with special needs and/or disabilities in the local area.
The information below is taken from their website.
Parenting Special Children was founded in 2006 by Ruth Pearse, CEO & founder and parent of neurodivergent children. The charity was set up to help other parents/carers navigate the world of SEND at a time when there was little known support for families.
Since then, PSC has grown steadily from one person to a team of over 40 with a wide range of specialist knowledge and lived experience who offer a variety of services to over 2500 families.
Parenting Special Children empowers families whose children/young people are neurodivergent and/or have special needs and/or disabilities including early life trauma.
We support families, children/young people and professionals directly via a wide range of specialist services.
Our vision is to build a community where every family and every child who is neurodivergent and/or has special needs and/or disabilities including early life trauma, is empowered, supported and no family ever feels alone.
We aspire to be a leading force in transforming the local landscape of support services.
