Hi all
So , on January 11th 2026 I started a journey to honour my cousin Gareth who died unexpectedly on 31st December 2025 . He was a runner - the best of us all - and I miss him more than I ever thought I could.❤️
He had a place in the London marathon and sadly couldn't complete it this year - he'd have been running for a charity close to his heart so I thought I'd use his inspiration to motivate me to do something that would make him proud .
I joined Resolution Runners Couch to 5K programme not really convinced I could be a runner for 2mins or 8 mins or whatever the next milestone was , but I found myself showing up and keeping up . With the support of the group by Easter I completed my first 5K. 😄
Now on Dec 19th @ Media City I'm running 10K encouraged by my new friend Asie who has also inspired me.
I'd always wanted to be part of the
" those who run " group and although it's always challenge when I go out - and I'm not fast - and it's not easy to keep going - I've found I love the feeling of being a fitter , stronger and healthier version of me. I love being out in the beautiful changing seasons and feeling alive .
I'm running for the Foodbank as it makes me sad to see those struggling to provide basic food for their families . Thankfully I've never had an empty cupboard and if you have what you need you are blessed . If there is a way you can make a donation I'd say it's the best exercise for your heart - keep bending down and lift others up
