Summer is just around the corner, and at the South Oxford Adventure Playground (SOAP), we are gearing up for our favorite time of year! To bring back our legendary, full-scale summer playscheme, we need your help to raise £5,000.
If you’ve ever visited us in July or August, you know exactly what SOAP sounds like: absolute joy. We are all about screen-free, messy, adventurous, and child-led outdoor play. On any given day, kids are flying down the zip wire, conquering the giant wooden fort, building secret dens, or baking over the campfire. It’s a safe, supervised space run by qualified playworkers where children can just be kids—testing their limits, making friends, and building confidence.
Here is the best part: SOAP is completely FREE.
We believe every child deserves the right to play. In a world where standard holiday clubs and childcare costs regularly hit £50 per day per child, family budgets are being stretched to the breaking point. For many local families, a summer without SOAP means weeks cooped up inside away from nature and friends.
Because we are a local charity run by volunteers, we rely entirely on donations to survive. Every penny of that £5,000 goes directly toward hiring our incredible sessional playworkers, maintaining our adventurous equipment, and keeping our gates open to everyone.
Whether you can donate the equivalent of one day of standard childcare (£50), or pitch in the cost of a summer ice cream—every single pound matters. Let’s keep the campfire burning and the zip wire flying this summer. Please donate today!
