Rather stupidly I've signed up to do a 10k run! This will be the first time I've ever run this far but it's for a really great cause. I'm running to raise funds for 'Living It Up', a Bedford based local charity that provides social and educational opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism.
Living It Up was set up by two awesome women that I'm lucky enough to call my friends, Claire who I've known for many years and Fizz (who will be running with me - keeping me going more like). My daughter, Paige, who has been a volunteer with this worthy charity for several years and I have seen many of their productions and witnessed the difference it can make to the lives of those who take part and just have fun participating in events and activities that they wouldn't otherwise get an opportunity to experience.
Any money I raise will go towards (amongst other things) much needed new instruments, hall repairs to make it more accessible, arts and craft supplies and radio show equipment.
Those who know me will know that 10 kilometers is way outside of my comfort zone since I've only ever managed 5k before now but I've been training for a year with Fizz and will hopefully get through it on the day, so I would be really grateful for any support you can give me and this wonderful, often overlooked, important charity.
