Hi, I’m Simon Hawkshaw from Bathe of Wharfedale, a proud patron and long-standing supporter of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.
On Saturday 7th August, I’ll be taking on the ultimate fundraising challenge alongside my friend Nick Simpson and his daughter Harriet Simpson, as we each complete a tandem skydive from the Grange-over-Sands drop zone.
Strapped to an experienced instructor, we’ll jump from over 15,000 feet, freefalling through the sky at speeds of up to 125mph before the parachute opens and we glide back down to earth, taking in the breathtaking views across the North West of England.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime challenge and, while it’s definitely outside our comfort zones, we’re doing it for a cause that means a great deal to us.
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity provides free respite holidays for children across Yorkshire who are facing adversity, including poverty, trauma, abuse, serious illness, disabilities and mental health challenges. For many of these families, a break away together is simply not possible, yet it can make a world of difference
The Trust’s eight holiday homes in Blackpool, Filey and the Lake District give families the chance to rest, reconnect and create precious memories together when they need it most.
As a patron and long-standing supporter, I’ve seen the incredible impact these breaks have on children and their families. Every donation helps The Principle Trust continue this vital work and provide more families with the opportunity to enjoy time together away from the pressures of everyday life.
Thanks to the charity’s 100% donations policy, every penny raised goes directly towards funding these much-needed respite breaks.
Please sponsor us if you can. Your support will help turn our leap of faith into lasting memories for families who need them most.
Thank you so much for your generosity and encouragement.
